This song was my declaration to God as I was coming out of that process of healing from the things that kept me buried. Every lie that held me back had been uprooted and set ablaze. For the first time in my life, I was free. I no longer had to hide who I was. I no longer had to pretend I was something I wasn’t. I could just be me.
I was no longer trapped inside my own head with thoughts that completely contradicted everything God said about me. I was free to not only receive His words about me but to BE everything He said I would be. Every idol in my life had been destroyed. All that was left was just the two of us–the way it was supposed to be.
Everything looked different. I could see a future for myself that was very bright. I saw people differently. I saw myself differently. I saw life differently. It made me move differently in the world. It made my experiences more meaningful. It opened me up in ways I could never have imagined. It made my heart more compassionate. I was no longer numb to life. I was able to feel again.
I got something back that I didn’t even realize had been so suppressed that living without it had become the norm–and that was my voice. I had something to say! When I look at where I am today and what God has called me to do, I just smile. My voice is exactly what the enemy was trying to silence because he knew what I’d use it for. He knew I’d use my voice to not only give God the glory but tell the world and everyone else that I could about Him too!
He also knew that I’d expose him for the fraud he is. He knew that I’d tell people not to settle for his lies. He knew that I’d snatch every soul I could from the clutches of his death grip because now I knew the truth–he has no power! He knew I’d make it my life’s mission to rip his little kingdom to shreds.
The freedom that I have can only be found in Christ! I’ve had the counterfeit version and it lacks something that can’t be manufactured and that’s the peace of God. There’s just something about the peace that comes from resting in Him that is literally beyond human comprehension. And it’s that freedom and peace that God desires to give to you today. Will you let Him?
Will you let Him heal you and restore you? Will you let Him fill you with His love, joy, and peace? Will you allow Him to do a work so marvelous in your life that it will astound not only you but others? Well, the choice is yours. The beauty of our loving Father is that He doesn’t make us do anything we don’t want to do. He invites us, He draws us, He longs for us, and He waits for us, but what He doesn’t do is force us. Whether you choose Him or not doesn’t change how He feels about you–He loves you! The choice is yours.
Well, that’s where I’m going to leave off today. I pray that as you listen to today’s song you allow it to be your declaration too! Allow Him to be your One and Only! 🥰

PRAYER: Father, how great and merciful you are. Thank you, Father, for your grace that covers me even when I’ve gone my own way. Father, you know my life and you know how I’ve lived. Forgive me for the things that I have made idols in my life and have put before you. Today, I repent and I lay them all at your feet and ask for your forgiveness. I pray that you give me the strength to walk the path you’ve set before me. I pray that you give me the wisdom and grace needed to navigate life’s ups and downs. Show me my heart. Reveal those things within me that are not like you so that I may be conformed to the image of Christ and live the abundant life promised through a relationship with you. Thank you for your word. Thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for surrounding me with your love. I give all the glory and honor to you alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
