Lift Up Your Head!

Ok…so I couldn’t just ignore this. I mean I could, but I don’t think I should:)

As soon as I woke up this morning, the song Wait on Lord by Elevation Worship was on my heart. Since our fellowship on Wednesday, I’ve been meditating on all that was shared, praying, and thanking God for breakthrough. It was so amazing to see all the ways in which the Lord was ministering what “waiting” meant for each of us in our current seasons of life. I was taken back to Isaiah 40 this morning and just started reading at verses 30 and 31 but then was led to read the entire chapter…And oh my goodness!!

As I read from verse 1, all I could do is cry. This is God speaking to someone today!

Comfort Ye, Comfort Ye my people. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned. What I felt in my heart was that the season of hardness, where it’s felt like you’ve been trudging through mud, that season of feeling incomplete, like something’s missing, that season of complacency, where you’ve felt uncertain, lacked motivation and direction, has come to an end!

As I was journaling, I meant to write, “You’re not slack concerning your promises,” but instead, I wrote princess!! I caught myself and said, “that was weird” and corrected my entry, but then the Holy Spirit prompted me to begin praying for all of His beautiful daughters! And again, all tied to the topic of “waiting” because we are all in some way waiting. Whether for the fulfillment of a promise, waiting for direction, waiting for provision, waiting for answers, we are all waiting with earnest expectation for our Beloved to show up! So I encourage you today to keep the faith…your season of waiting has come to an end.

Then the gospel song, Don’t Cry by Kirk Franklin dropped in my spirit and I felt so strongly that God was reminding me that we serve the Living God! And because of this we have a hope and a confidence that does not rest in man’s ability or our own limited mental capacity, but it rests fully in the finished work of the cross. We can be confident in God’s word and that He will do what He says He will do. So whatever you’ve been believing and trusting God for…It is done…It is well…Because He is God! He watches over His Word to make it good (Jeremiah 1:12).  His word is forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89).

So, I went to YouTube to play the song as I was getting dressed. It was on repeat but then another song came on immediately after…and it was, Wait on the Lord by Elevation Worship! I knew right then that I had to share this even if no one ever reads this because I know that it was no coincidence. I know how God speaks to me and how He leads me so ignoring this…I just couldn’t.

If anyone is feeling discouraged and let down by their current situation, God wants to remind you that you serve the Living God! Daughter of Zion…Lift up your head…For your time has come. (Psalm 102:13)
